It was a dream of mine when I started this blog to be able to collaborate with cool brands like GAP to come up with cool projects for their events. Their “Made to Love” event in Dubai was exactly what I dreamed of. Noughties RnB played while grown men crafted their own bow ties, I would love to do events like this for the rest of my life.
I devised 3 different quick projects, a 5 minute no-sew bow tie, denim bangle and denim detachable collar. All of these were made from old GAP stock, so it was right inline with this blog also.
So I recently hosted a DIY workshop at Pantry Cafe. It was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done. On a Thursday, young girls from all different backgrounds came together to make Missoni-inspired vases by upcycling Voss water bottles from the cafe.
Here are the pictures of the workshop. These girls were amazing and we hope to do it again soon!
Thankyou to my fabulous intern George for the pictures and Pantry Cafe and Toh PR for the collaboration.
So on the 25th of April I turned 29. There was something weird about being almost 30 and still in love with doing craft. I have had quite a tough time lately, for someone who has such a rich passion for life and productivity, nothing felt more right than to have my closest handful of friends over for a quiet night in. The project was DIY Deluxe Party hats. The full step-by-steps to come here soon:
For a while now I’ve been thinking about branching out into DIY events and also guestings. It’s really exciting to me to spread my love for DIY in Dubai. So you can now come and have a 3 course meal with me and also make some cool sugar body scrub to take home too. So exciting.
I’ll provide all the materials for the DIY also. It’s going to be so much fun.
If you’d like to come and join the table for May 9th, meet me, make some cool scrub and also eat great food then book your place here now.
A unique party portal Moushii has launched in the UAE, offering consumers themed party packages, DIY supplies, party supplies and online printables through its dedicated website www.moushii.com.
I love Moushii.com for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it’s encouraging young kids and Mums to DIY together and teaching Dubai-raised kids to make things and secondly, Moushii’s owner is a good friend of mine. Zeina Abdalla is an amazing entrepreneur and all-round lovely girl, and I would support her in any venture she’d undertake.
Check out the gifts Zeina sent me from Moushii:
Moushii provides consumers and planners with everything from all-inclusive party packs available to purchase off-the-rack, do-it-yourself party supplies and printables, right through to couture themes and personalised designs.
I think you’ll fall in love with the packs as much as me. Now I just need to throw a party to use the stuff!
