MyDubaiMyCity.com was very sweet and came to my house to raid my closet. It was very fun to shoot and show my DIY clothes from Cheapnchic.net. Check the video, I think you’ll love it!

This month What’s On UAE is featuring DIY resources and tips. So happy they featured Cheapnchic.net.

Grab it on stands if you live in the United Arab Emirates now.

It’s been so amazing for Cheapnchic.net in the press. I’ve had the three most influential local papers in the UAE cover DIY on their covers and had the site involved in the coverage. The first was Khaleej Times Wknd magazine, then 7 Days Metro page and now Gulf News tabloid. I am so overwhelmed by the support of the press in spreading the Cheapnchic.net “champagne lifestyle on a beer budget” ethos.

Best of all they gave a great plug to the DIY Directory!

Here’s the latest:

Last week I hosted one of the biggest hotel openings on the planet. A huge career highlight for me to be MCing the launch of the world’s tallest hotel and interviewing fashion designer Donna Karan and singer Leona Lewis.

The amazing staff at the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai gave me a room for the evening to change and get relaxed. I’ve take some highlight pictures of the night:

It all was very luxurious, including the dress I wore for the evening by the award-winning local designer Furne One and his Amato Couture who dresses Shakira, Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj and Jennifer Lopez. He kindly loaned me a stunning dress. Thankyou also to ARTE Madrid for the jewellry I wore.

Even though I was surrounded by all that glamour, I still stayed true to my Cheap’n'chic roots, wearing the very comfy DIY Spiked Nude Heels with studs I created for this site.

And in case you didn’t believe me! Here’s the full body shot in Hello Magazine:

Imagine interviewing Donna Karan in DIY heels! Definitely a surreal moment.

Here’s some video of me hosting on the evening:

A massive thankyou to Eve Dugdale at 7 Days UAE for doing this article about Cheapnchic.net. It’s already gotten loads of traffic to the site and some of you have been writing to me about where in Satwa to get materials for the projects.

Just a reminder, if you’ve been following, that the Cheapnchic.net DIY in Dubai Directory launches very soon. We hope to have a launch party and everything. So stay glued to Cheapnchic.net.

Such great support and coverage. Our workshop at Al Maraya this weekend is now fully booked! You can read the full article here.

Thanks as always to Kelly at www.thehouseofphotography.com for the coverage.
